NEW Coaching Requirements - House League Coaches

Aug. 01, 2023

Swift Current Soccer Association House League Coach Certification Process

By following this chart, you will be fulfilling the requirements set forth by Sask Soccer in order to coach in Swift Current.

Step 1:

Request a Criminal Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check from the RCMP in Swift Current. For this you'll have to go in person to the RCMP dispatch. Before going to the dispatch, contact Swift Current Soccer for our VSC letter which will ensure this process is free for you.

Step 2:

Go to https://thelocker.coach.ca/account/login?ReturnUrl=%2f and create an account - this will give you an NCCP number. It's an important number that you use for some coaching things.

Step 3:

Go to the Safe Places website and create an account:

https://safeplaces.saasycloud.com/account/login/public

On this website, you need to upload your Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check when they come back from the RCMP.

Step 4:

Also on this website is a course called "Respect in Sport" which must be completed. If you update your profile to indicate that you are doing this for SCSA, then the course will be free.

After this you will be certified with Safe Places.

Step 5:

Go to the Canada Soccer Grassroots coaching course page, and complete the required course for your age group: https://canada-soccer.myshopify.com/collections/grassroots-coaching-education-program

Coaching U5 - Active Start

Coaching U7/U9 - FUNdamentals

Coaching U11/U13 - Learn to Train

Coaching U14+ - Soccer for Life

If you are unsure about which course you need to take, contact the SCSA technical director at scsatechdirector@gmail.com

IMPORTANT: This course MUST be done before taking the on-field training portion below.

Step 6:

The last step of this process is to register on swiftcurrentsoccer.ca as a coach. When you get the website, there is a big yellow "Registration" button. Follow the steps to create an account and register to coach.

Important: The dates for the in-person clinics have been set:

Active Start/Fundamentals: Sept.17 9-11 @ The Stockade

Learn to Train: Sept. 17 12-4 @ The Stockade

Soccer For Life: Sept. 24 9-1 @ The Stockade

Step 7:

Submit photos of all receipts for training course expenses along with our Expense Reimbursement Form found at:

Swiftcurrentsoccer.ca —> Forms —-> Expense Reimbursement Form
